Recovery from rape or assault can seem like a never-ending battle. However painful and scary and challenging this process may be, I am here to help you heal. My main treatment goal is to help you begin to process your assault in a safe space so that you can begin to get your life back.

Trauma can shatter the way you see the world. Using research proven-methods such as Trauma-Focused CBT, together we will examine the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. An important component of healing is challenging irrational thoughts related to self-blame or other distorted beliefs that may have developed as a result of the trauma. Through our work together you will learn skills to help you transform these thoughts and reclaim your life.

So often our past pain and our projections about the future are the cause of a great deal of our distress. Using mindfulness techniques, I will help you learn to enter into the present moment, where you can find freedom and peace. I often incorporate scripted meditation to help you understand and integrate your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations.

Trauma Treatment

When we experience trauma, sometimes we begin to feel like our pain is who we are. It can be difficult to see past the pain and sometimes it can even be difficult to see the possibility for healing. However unthinkable what you have suffered is, I will help you discover that your pain is not who you are and does not define you. By building trust together over time and moving at a pace that is comfortable for you, we begin to create a safe place for you to begin to process your trauma so that it no longer rules your life.

My focus in treatment is to help you identify and uncover the patterns that keep you stuck and to promote change, self-awareness, and personal growth. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental and validating environment that fosters self-worth and empowerment. I believe in creating a safe and nurturing space in which to discuss life’s challenges and uncover what's holding you back. My approach is warm and collaborative and I am committed to guiding you to become the best version of yourself.

I have experience working with a variety of challenges including:
low self- esteem, anxiety, mood disorders, and problems with relationships and intimacy. I use a blend of many evidenced-based practices to guide you toward emotional health and wellbeing.
